Coordinators
The spreadsheet you attached looks good for keeping track of who is actually on the Band-Mode at any given time (LIVE). It does not address the control of duplicate contacts.

Logging Software
The N3FJP software is $8.99 per call sign and “entitles your club to install the program on multiple PCs under one call sign at one Field Day location”. We need to own a copy for each call sign used. NADXA may have already purchased it for W7YS since it is installed on their laptops. I suspect that we could actually use it at each of the individual members homes but we should ask Scott, N3FJP just to be sure.

The software keeps track of duplicates by band and mode. We are permitted to operate using all three modes on multiple bands at the same time but I don’t think that we could sustain this kind of operation with the limited number of operators we have. i.e. We could legally operate using W7YS on 20 meter SSB, digital and CW while operating 40 meter SSB, Digital and CW and hoping for an opening on 15 while doing the same thing with KC7KCN at the same time.

Logistics What I suggest is:

5 logs total:

1) KC7KCN - Phone 2) KC7KCN - Digital 3) W7YS - Phone 4) W7YS - Digital 5) W7YS - CW

BTW - This is very similar to the way we have handled the duplicate tracking during 2015 - 2019 and maybe before except we only used a single call sign plus GOTA.

Members of both clubs would be encouraged to sign up to operate using either call sign with their selected mode and time slot. They could pick any band they wanted and even switch around the bands. They would be restricted only to the mode for the time they signed up for.

I talked with Ken, KF7DUR, and he suggested using “Dropbox” instead of the Wiki for storage of the logs. The log file could reside in the Dropbox and be accessed directly via N3FJP from any location. Operators would schedule a time and log in to access a mode log and no one else could use it. They would then operate on whatever band they wanted and when their time was up they would log out so the next scheduled person could log in and operate. Most likely we will need to practice logging in and out so every operator would feel comfortable using this (or whatever) setup. I know that this method would restrict us from using multiple bands with the same mode at the same time as we are permitted. An alternative would be to create a log for every band and mode for both call signs. This would be a monumental task and a logistical nightmare.

     160m

      80m 1 19 96

      40m 187 95 262

      20m 639 4 261

      15m 68 2 20

      10m

       6m 1 25

With all that said - I think this will be the most difficult year we have ever had to get new operators to sign up. They will need to load and operate “foreign” software, learn to access the log, operate on their own without guidance and all that is for those that already have HF radios and antennas or worse yet also string up antennas and learn to operate a loaner radio. WOW. I am not usually a pessimist and trust me - I WILL DO MY BEST TO HELP MAKE IT WORK.
