I am trying to understand the real cost of road maintenance. It looks like we're on an unsustainable path - spending everything we have, hoping for the best and asking for more money whenever the money is exhausted. (?) Probably I just don't understand everything. But I think it would be wise for us to make a solid plan which allows us to live within our resources. It looks like the asphalt is a very expensive proposition. At least $6000 of the $10000 we spent on road maintenance last fiscal year would not have been required if we did not have the asphalt. Maybe it's time to get rid of the asphalt and get back to something we can afford?
