W7LUXPeople are having trouble with all the at-home time. I suggest we use this time to prepare power for Field Day. Some Youtube videos on emergency and portable power: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLc2czyWEJA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8-jxMtpklw A presentation: http://www.na0tc.org/lib/exe/fetch.php?media=technical:emergency_power_for_ham_radio_v8.pdf download/save and view the PDF file. There are many additional videos on this page.... Details of a battery backup system (3 parts), technical details; somewhat dated, but many useful ideas. The 2 volt wet cell system is similar to the old backup power supply for the Mount Elden ARA repeaters: Remember: Lithium batteries require special chargers. Suggestions??? 73, Joe, W7LUX |
